Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signed

Ambo University and Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University of India signed MoU on 10th April, 2014 at Ambo University.

Dr.Mitiku Teso, President of Ambo University and Dr.Dhanraj Mane Registrar of BSAMU signed the agreement on behalf of Ambo University and Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, India respectively. The agreement is aimed at cooperating on Education and Research activities.


Computer-Aided Engineering Training Given

Computer-aided engineering training has been given to Technology faculty teachers & mechanical engineering graduating class at Awaro campus from March 10-17, 2014.

The training was prepared by mechanical engineering department in collaboration with Technology faculty. It was aimed at building the capacity of teachers & to make the graduating students competent in market of man power. Academic & Research vice President of Ambo University Dr. Lakew Wondemu has made the opened speech and said such training is essential to transform trainees from handicap to computer assisted handling of work place complexities. So, the university is proactive to involve & work with them.


Anti corruption training organized

Anti corruption and work ethics training has been organized by Ethics& Anti Corruption Directorate office for workers of Ambo University on March 21, 2014.

President of Ambo University, Dr.Mitiku Teso, opened the training with the speech he made to participants. He has pointed that it is impossible to insure social and economic development of any country in the presence of corruption and bad behavior. Therefore, everyone has to fix himself to ethically right and corruption free paths in his career. The university needs to make up people of good ethics in line with delivery of education and training so as to accelerate the realization of social and economic development of the country. In his speech, he emphasized that educational institutions have responsibility to accept and work according to authorized syllabus to be fruitful in preparing ethically wellbeing professionals.


Ambo University registers big success in sports competition


The Ambo University sports delegate, who took part in the 7th Public Higher Education Sports Festival hosted by Haremaya    University from Feb 8-23, 2014, has registered the first ever biggest success in the history of its participation in the tournament.The delegate competed in 11 games, and managed to win a trophy, and a total of 17 medals.


sport2Accordingly, the university’s male valley ball team won a cup for standing first, and the male football team got a silver medal after losing the final match to Mekele University in penalty kick, which came after the regulation time draw. In athletics, the delegate won two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Similarly, in Paralympics, two gold and one bronze medals have been secured by different competitors. The historic sports delegate also won four silver medals in gymnastics, and three bronze medals in table tennis competitions.


sport3The sports delegate came back home with great victory on February 24, 2014. The Ambo University senior officials, employees, and students welcomed the teams, and cheered them by travelling more than 20 km out of Ambo. It was learned that all the university’s community and Ambo residents are delighted with the results achieved. The Ambo University Relations and Alumni Management is currently receiving many congratulatory messages from different segments of the society on the success brought by the teams.
